Getting started with Biller
New to Biller? This is the short path from a fresh account to ringing up your first bill -- each step links to its own fuller guide, and you can always come back and fill things in later.

Signing in is phone-first: one mobile number field, Get OTP, done -- Google and email sign-in are one tap away if you prefer them. Your name is asked once, right after the code, and only if we don't already have one from Google. Continuing means accepting our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (one line on the card, no checkbox). We email you tips and reminders by default -- turn these off any time from your profile menu's email preference toggle.
Your first sign-in opens a short setup flow that collects everything else -- your outlet's name, what you sell, an optional area/city, tables/ counters and your menu -- everything is skippable and resumable later from the pages below, and Go to billing in the header always lets you jump straight to billing. Answering Everything else at "What do you sell?" drops the tables/counters step entirely -- a shop adds its catalog from Items instead (see Billing for shops and stores).
1. Create your outlet
Just a name, what you sell, and an optional area or city -- ticked by default, a checkbox opts you in to occasional product updates and offers (also manageable any time from your profile menu). Full address, GSTIN, FSSAI, phone and UPI ID have their own home and can be added any time -- see Setting up your outlet.
2. Get your menu in
Drop a photo, PDF, CSV or Word file -- any number of pages -- and items stream in as they're read; a row that needs a decision (no English name, or a price that changed) carries a warning you tap to fix. The quick-add box underneath is the fastest path for typing items by hand -- name and price, Enter saves it and keeps typing the next one. No menu yet? Use a sample menu seeds a few starter items to look around with; they clear out the moment you add a real item. Tap any item in the list for photo, category or veg/non-veg. See Set up your menu from a photo.
3. Set up your tables/counters
Pick a table count (or Custom... for a specific number or name) and toggle Counter, Takeaway and Delivery as order types you also take -- table QR stickers are minted automatically for every table you create. Quick Bill exists by default on every outlet so you can bill right away even before finishing this step. Add or rename tables/counters any time, and set up CGST/SGST/service charge and which apply to each -- see Taxes & charges and GST billing.
4. (Optional) Push notifications and printing
Turn on notifications for new orders, your daily report and low stock -- also available any time from the notifications bell. See Push notifications, Tables & QR codes and Printer network setup.
5. Ring up your first bill
Open a bill, add items, send it to the kitchen, complete it, share it as a QR or printed receipt. See Making a bill and Printing your bills.
6. Watch it work in the kitchen
Every kitchen-bound bill appears on the kitchen ticket wall, built for a mounted TV or tablet. See The kitchen ticket wall and Setting up a kitchen display.
7. See how you're doing
Insights gives a plain-English, AI-generated daily digest once bills are flowing. See AI insights.
Help while you work
Tap Help (top bar) for the guide matching your screen, every other guide, and an Ask tab that answers in plain language. See The in-app Help panel.
Tips
- An "Update available" bar appears when a new version ships mid-session -- tap Refresh when convenient (never mid bill).
- On the Android app, that same bar reads "A new version of Biller.app is ready" -- tap Update to open its Play Store listing (the app can't fetch the new version itself, unlike the web/browser version).
- You genuinely can start with just steps 1, 2 and 5.
- Multiple outlets: use the outlet switcher in the top bar -- settings always apply to whichever outlet is selected.
- Every outlet starts with a one-time Biller-credit grant, then a plan or prepaid credit packs -- see Biller credits & pricing.
