- Create a named discount in Outlet settingsGive it a name that reads well on a receipt — "Festive 10% off", "Flat 50 off" — and pick percentage or flat.
- Toggle it active while the promo runsOnly active discounts can be applied. Turn one off to retire it without deleting its history.
- Apply it from the billing screen in one tapTap Apply next to Discount, pick an active one, or No discount to clear it.
- Tax lands on the right numberTax computes on the post-discount amount, matching what you actually charge.
Why it matters
A discount applied after tax quietly misstates your GST. Computing it the other way round is the difference between a promotion and a filing problem.

- Editing a discount never rewrites a past bill. A bill keeps the discount it was created with.
- It is whole-bill, not per-item. Percentage or flat, across the bill.

No. A flat discount larger than the bill is not allowed to push the total below zero.
Who can apply them?
Anyone billing on the counter can apply an active discount. Creating and retiring them is an admin job in Outlet settings.
