Inviting your CA (accountant)
Give your CA their own read-only login, so they can see your reports and prepare your GST returns without asking you for files. This is an Unlimited-plan feature: it is not available on the free trial or on credits. If your outlet is on the free trial, the invite asks you to upgrade first.
What the Accountant (CA) role is
Accountant (CA) -- tax reports, sales, bills and other costs, to prepare GST returns. Read-only. Never the till.
Your CA can see and download your tax reports, see the sales table, open any bill as a tax invoice, and switch between the outlets that invited them. They see your outlet's GSTIN and, on B2B bills, the buyer's name and GSTIN. They never see customer phone numbers.
Your CA cannot take orders or payment, edit or void a bill, change the menu, prices, taxes or outlet settings, or touch your team, pay or invites. Everything they can reach is read-only.
Invite your CA
- Go to Team. While your outlet has no CA, an Add your CA card sits on top: "They see reports and file GST; never your settings or money."
- Tap Invite CA. The invite drawer opens with the role already set to Accountant (CA). There is no salary to fill in -- your CA is not on your payroll.
- Enter your CA's phone or email and tap Send invite.
The link works the way every team invite does: single use, for that recipient only, and valid for 7 days (see Adding team members with an invite link). You can also pick Accountant (CA) from the role list in the normal Invite button.
Tap Not now on the card to hide it for 30 days. It stays hidden for good once a CA has joined.
What your CA sees
Accepting the invite lands your CA on Reports & exports, on the Filing check tab. A one-time banner says what this login can and cannot do. The top bar shows Accountant, and the menu holds only Reports & exports, Bills, the Insights sales table, Other Costs and Purchases, all read-only. Under the page title your CA sees the outlet's GSTIN and the GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B due dates.
Reports & exports has three tabs:
- Summary -- four figures for the month: Yours after GST, Total sales, GST to pay and Delivery apps. Each is labelled "Estimate from your Biller data. Your CA confirms." They are not added into one "saved" total. GST to pay leaves out delivery-app orders: the delivery app pays the GST on those, so Collected and To pay show the same figure. An outlet with no GSTIN shows No GSTIN instead, because no GST check applies.
- Downloads -- the same tax reports and preview you use, opening on Tax summary. Your CA can download them as PDF or CSV.
- Filing check -- what to look at before filing: buyer GSTINs that fail the check, IGST on same-state B2B bills, bills voided after the month, delivery-app orders, items with no HSN, and the checks that passed. Copy list for owner puts a ready message on the clipboard for WhatsApp. The check only points; the fixes are yours, on the bill or item itself.
Bills are read-only
Your CA sees each bill with its GST invoice number and the buyer's GSTIN. Tapping a bill opens its tax invoice with a Download PDF button. There is no Edit, Settle or Void, and the till never opens. The server refuses those actions for this role too.
Add to CA report
On your Summary you can put one figure in front of your CA with Add to CA report. It joins their Filing check for that outlet and month, under From the owner, and your row reads In CA report. Your CA taps Mark done (and may Add note), and you then see Done by CA with their note.
If you have no CA on Biller yet, the button asks you to invite one first.
On the free trial you still see all three tabs with your own data. Add to CA report offers See plans instead, because the CA login is on the Unlimited plan.
If your plan changes
If your outlet leaves the Unlimited plan, your CA's access pauses and their login shows "This outlet's plan doesn't include accountant access." Nothing is deleted.
