Offers: discounts and promotions

An offer is two things in one place:

  • the money rule -- what comes off the bill, applied at the till;
  • the campaign -- the poster and the WhatsApp message you send about it.

An offer can have either on its own. A discount with no campaign still works at the till; it just means nothing tells a customer about it. A campaign always belongs to a discount, because there is no point promoting an offer the till will not honour.

Everything you run is listed on one page: Offers in the admin side bar.

Making an offer

The Offers page gives you three ways in, and they all end up in the same list.

  • New offer -- you write the money rule yourself. Free.
  • Suggest offers -- AI proposes a few offers from what actually sells at your outlet and what you already discount. 3 credits.
  • Draft a promotion -- AI writes the whole thing: the offer, the poster, the message and a promo code. 5 credits. This one lives on the Customers page, because that is where you send it from.

The money rule

  • Percentage (e.g. 20% off) or flat amount (e.g. Rs. 100 off).
  • Cap it at a rupee amount (percentage only) -- "20% off, up to Rs. 150". Use this when an uncapped percentage would give away too much on a large table. The cap is shown to the customer as part of the rule, on screen and on the printed receipt, so nobody reads "20% off" and is surprised.
  • Active -- only active offers can be applied to a bill. Toggle one off to retire it without losing its history.
  • Expiry -- stop on a date, or after a number of uses, or both. Whichever comes first ends it. Bills that already carry the offer are never touched.

Editing an offer never changes a bill it was already applied to. A bill keeps what it was actually charged.

The campaign

Add a campaign on any offer that has none, or Edit campaign on one that has. You write:

  • a headline for the top of the poster;
  • a supporting line;
  • a one-line summary of the offer;
  • the WhatsApp message a customer receives.

You can attach your own image -- a photo from your phone, or a poster you already have -- or tap Draft poster with AI in the Poster section. The button shows its cost (3 Biller credits) and one tap runs it; the poster is painted from your one-line summary, so write that first. If the AI cannot draw one, you are not charged and your current poster stays.

Remove campaign drops the poster and the message and asks nothing first. A Campaign removed message with Undo stays for 10 seconds: tap Undo and the poster and message come back exactly as they were. Nothing is deleted until those 10 seconds are up (or you leave the page). The discount carries on working exactly as before.

Sending it

Sending happens on the Customers page, one customer at a time, from your own WhatsApp. See the Customers guide for how that works and what actually gets sent.
