An honest look at what "free" actually means across Indian restaurant billing tools — where Biller's free tier stands, what competitors' trials and entry tiers really cost, and what the sources we reviewed simply don't say.
The gap we found
None of the India-market sources we reviewed show a competitor offering an indefinite, no-card free tier at this volume for a single outlet — Loyverse is the closest free-tier benchmark, but it's a global listing, not an India-specific rollout.

Posist (Restroworks), Rista, and UrbanPiper aren't in this table — the sources reviewed don't document a free/trial tier for any of them, so we've left them out rather than guess (Posist gets a short note in the FAQ below).
Petpooja & Gofrugal
Petpooja is India's dominant SMB restaurant POS by installed base, but the sources we reviewed don't document a published free or trial tier for it — instead they flag its initial setup (menu, tax, and printer configuration) as slow, and note performance complaints under load.12 Its offline mode is marketed as a core reliability feature, which Biller doesn't ship yet.1
Gofrugal isn't free, but is positioned as low-friction, with entry pricing from around ₹500 per user per month as of 12 July 2026, and an offline-capable billing app as a headline feature.3 Its reporting includes interactive, customizable charts.4
Where Biller is ahead
